Randolph County Forestland Preserved Through Local Collaboration

211 acres of Randolph County forest now permanently protected

Local Partnership Secures Conservation of Expansive Forestland

In an inspiring collaboration, a significant expanse of forest in Randolph County is now protected from development, thanks to the efforts of a local couple and a conservation-focused nonprofit organization.

The area, encompassing 211 acres near Asheboro, boasts a rich ecosystem comprising mature hardwood trees, diverse wildlife such as bobcats, and migratory songbirds, according to Three Rivers Land Trust. This Salisbury-based organization worked alongside Gene and Pat Holder, the landowners, to ensure the land’s preservation.

The nonprofit highlighted in their announcement that safeguarding this forestland is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and stability of the waterways within the Yadkin River basin.

This conservation easement guarantees that the land will remain free from development indefinitely, regardless of future changes in ownership.
