The RiverRun International Film Festival, a prominent event in the film community, has appointed Michael Morin as its new executive director. This change in leadership follows the retirement of Rob Davis, who served the organization for eight years and stepped down at the end of 2024.

Morin brings with him a wealth of experience from his role at the Slamdance Film Festival, where he played a key role in increasing attendance and facilitating significant changes. His commitment to fostering growth at RiverRun is evident as he expressed his dedication “to working collaboratively across the region to ensure RiverRun grows boldly and vibrantly.”

Located in Winston-Salem, this year’s festival attracted 10,000 attendees, showcasing its significance in the film industry. The upcoming festival is slated to take place from April 17th to April 25th, 2026, promising another year of engaging cinematic experiences.
