David Dominguez is known for his visits to farmers markets across the state, where he focuses on vendors often left unseen — those without any customers. Engaging with them, he records their stories and shares these moments through brief videos.

His posts carry a meaningful message: “Only buying from vendors with NO customers at the farmers market.”

One such vendor, Dawna Thompson of Dawna’s Jerky, experienced a significant impact from Dominguez’s initiative.

After featuring Dawna’s booth at a market in Rosenberg, Texas, Dawna and her husband were met with a barrage of notifications on their phones.

“We hear our phone just like ding, ding, ding, ding, ding,” Dawna shared with Click2Houston. “It was crazy.”

Initially concerned over potential cyber issues, the Thompsons soon realized these were incoming orders from across the nation prompted by the video Dominguez shared.

“We still have like 2,200 orders,” Dawna mentioned. “Every time we ship, we just keep getting more in.”

Dominguez embarked on this project in 2025 after a job layoff. With newfound time, he sought a positive outlet.

“My family likes to go to a lot of markets,” he explained. “When I started seeing I could help businesses, I thought maybe I could make some content and help them that way.”

His journey now takes him to various markets from Austin to Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso, utilizing his platform to shine a light on small vendors.

“They catch my attention,” he stated, “and I try to help them out as much as I can.”
