Just over a week following a heart attack that led to a crash, Nimmo reunited with Dr. Kehinde Idowu, the Good Samaritan who played a crucial role in saving his life after the collision on a congested Roswell, Georgia street.

Their reunion came nine days post-incident, an event that has been vividly present in Nimmo’s thoughts. While driving, he experienced a heart attack, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Fortunately, Dr. Idowu was nearby and witnessed the crash firsthand.

As they prepared to meet, Nimmo reflected on the anticipation that had built up since the accident. “I counted down the days,” Nimmo admitted. “We communicated back and forth a few times, but I couldn’t wait to finally meet him.”

Their meeting was profoundly touching. Dr. Idowu modestly recounted how he acted instinctively, administering CPR on Nimmo while awaiting the arrival of emergency personnel.

“It’s not always that we get to see outcomes like this,” remarked Idowu. “To be able to see him, to share this joy with him and his family — it’s overwhelming.”

During Nimmo’s recovery, Dr. Idowu even took a personal moment to listen to his heartbeat, underscoring the gravity of the situation narrowly averted.

The ordeal has reshaped Nimmo’s outlook on life and the upcoming holiday season. “This Thanksgiving feels like a bonus,” he observed, noting how each future holiday holds newfound significance. “Every Thanksgiving, every Christmas — they’ll all be because of you.”

While Nimmo attributes his survival to Dr. Idowu, the doctor humbly acknowledged the collective efforts of all involved that day. He extended his gratitude to the bystanders, police officers equipped with a defibrillator, EMS teams, and hospital personnel, while also attributing the successful rescue to his faith.

“All of it came together in his favor,” Idowu stated. “God really is the one who gets the glory.”
