Athenian Legacy Honored: Michael Conroy’s Impact in Wildlife Management
In the realm of wildlife management, Michael Conroy’s name resonates deeply within the academic and local communities of Athens. His career, marked by dedication and passion, culminated in his retirement in 2019 as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Conroy, beloved by many, left an indelible mark on the field before his passing in June.
One of the individuals profoundly influenced by Conroy’s work is Clint Moore, a retired federal scientist from the US Geological Survey. Moore, who studied under Conroy, took the initiative to organize a symposium in September to honor his mentor’s enduring legacy. In an interview with WUGA’s Emma Auer, Moore shared insights into Conroy’s lasting impact on both his personal and professional life.
