Nebraska Volleyball Stars Secure Top National Honors
In a remarkable achievement for Nebraska Volleyball, juniors Bergen Reilly and Andi Jackson have been recognized as the top players in the nation at their respective positions. The American Volleyball Coaches Association awarded Reilly as the premier setter in college volleyball, while Jackson claimed the title of the best middle blocker.
This recognition comes hot on the heels of both players being named First-Team All Americans, a testament to their significant contributions to the Huskers’ impressive 33-1 season. Their efforts were instrumental in securing a third consecutive Big Ten championship for the team.
Reilly’s Record-Breaking Performance
Bergen Reilly’s season was marked by exceptional achievements. She was not only named the Big Ten Player of the Year but also a finalist for the national Player of the Year. Reilly led the Huskers to a school-record .351 hitting percentage, averaging 10.47 assists and 2.7 digs per set. Her versatile play also included 73 kills, 67 blocks, and 19 aces.
Jackson’s Dominance at the Net
Andi Jackson’s performance was equally impressive, averaging 2.74 kills per set with a .467 hitting percentage—the highest in the nation and the third-highest in school history for a single season. In conference-only matches, she hit .559, setting a new Big Ten record for hitting percentage in these games. Jackson also contributed 1.12 blocks per set and 16 aces.
The accolades for the Nebraska volleyball team add to a season filled with postseason honors, following a dominant 33-0 start that concluded in the Elite Eight.
