Teen Accused in School Shooting Appears in Court
The Apalachee High School shooting, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two students and two teachers, has brought 17-year-old Colt Gray into the spotlight. On December 9th, Gray appeared in court for a status hearing regarding the high-profile case.
During the hearing, Gray’s current legal representative, the third to take on his defense, addressed the court. She cited the extensive discovery material and her recent involvement, having joined the case in mid-October, as reasons for the proceedings’ slow pace. A pending medical evaluation, expected to be completed by February, was also mentioned as a factor in the delay.
The judge has set a calendar call for March 18 to outline future proceedings in the case.
In a related development, Gray’s father, Colin Gray, faces legal charges for allegedly supplying his son with the semiautomatic weapon used in the incident.
