New Candidate Enters Clarke County School Board Race in District 3
The Clarke County School District Board of Education in District 3 has a new contender. Carl Blount, known in Athens for his work in insurance, is now vying for a position on the board.
The geographic area of District 3 spans from Hawthorne Avenue to Wilkerson Street and includes key educational institutions such as Clarke Central High School and Classic City High School.
Residing in Athens for over 20 years, Blount and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, Ashton and Thomas, who have navigated through the local school system.
Blount’s campaign aims to focus on enhancing literacy and math skills in early education, offering additional support to students who may be overlooked, and enhancing the relationship between the Board and District leadership.
Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for the Board of Education on May 19, 2026. Linda Davis is the current representative for the district.
