Surge in Respiratory Viruses Reported by Nebraska Health Officials

Amid growing concerns about respiratory illnesses, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has noted a rise in positive cases across several viruses, such as influenza A and B, RSV, and COVID-19. This information is part of the latest Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, which extends through December 20.

Influenza A continues to be the most prevalent virus in Nebraska, with a reported total of 1,570 positive cases this flu season. In the latest week of reporting, DHHS documented 965 new influenza A cases, marking a significant increase of 671 cases from the preceding week.
