In the town of Lockport, a heartfelt gesture unfolded when a brother took action to honor a poignant final wish. Frank Ozimek, who spent his last six weeks in hospice care due to cancer, developed a strong rapport with the nurses who provided his care. Before his passing, he expressed a heartfelt desire: he wished for the nurses to be served a meal on Easter.

Determined to fulfill this wish, his brother, Ken Ozimek, faced a challenge—most restaurants in the area were closed for the holiday.

After numerous calls resulted in no success, Ken contacted Tommy Milani, owner of Sub Delicious, a local restaurant. Milani agreed without hesitation.

“I said absolutely, whatever you need, Ken,” Milani revealed. “They do an amazing job there. They’re all saints.”

Milani set aside his personal Easter plans to open the restaurant specifically for this request, preparing enough food to nourish the entire hospice nursing staff.

Ken was deeply touched by the gesture.

“He was kind enough to push back Easter to him, put everything aside, open his restaurant, and make us food for the whole building down there,” Ken shared.

This generous act was especially significant as it embodied Frank’s true spirit. Despite his “big bad biker guy” appearance, Frank was known for his generosity.

“You could come up to him, say ‘I’m cold,’ and he’d take the shirt off his back and give it to you,” Ken described.

Thanks to the compassionate actions of the restaurant owner, the warmth Frank shared is now extended to those who cared for him during his final days.

“To me, it means the world to see that kindness, that greatness spread,” Ken expressed. “And I hope when people see this story, they take it and say, why can’t we do this, and spread joy and kindness to each other.”
