Upcoming Special Election as Clarke County Board Member Steps Down
The Clarke County School District is preparing for a change in leadership as a key member of the Board of Education is set to resign. This unexpected vacancy has triggered plans for a special election later this year.
Nicole Hull, who represents District 8 on the Clarke County School District Board of Education, has announced her intention to step down from her position. Her resignation will take effect on June 30, prompting a special election scheduled for November 3rd to determine who will complete her term. Hull’s term was originally set to conclude in December 2028.
Hull shared her decision during the board meeting held on January 15th, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve. “Thank you all for being my colleagues and allowing me to serve in this seat, and thank the community as well,” she stated.
Following her departure, the board is tasked with appointing a temporary replacement. This interim member will serve until the special election winner is officially sworn in at the start of January 2027. Details regarding the election process and candidate qualifications will be made available in the coming months.
