Body of Missing Teenager Discovered in Forsyth County, Hit-and-Run Suspected
A case that puzzled Forsyth County residents for over two weeks has taken a tragic turn as authorities confirmed the discovery of a missing teenager’s body. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office unveiled this development during a press conference on Friday.
The body, identified as Carlos Colindres, was found on Thursday lying in a ravine near Reidsville Road. Colindres had been missing since October, last seen leaving a party on Rickard Drive on a bicycle.
Investigators have determined that Colindres was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. They are currently seeking a teal, early 2000s Freightliner Coronado in connection with the incident.
Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough appealed to the conscience of the driver involved, urging them to come forward. “Whoever was driving the vehicle knows that they struck someone or something, and so all we’re asking for, again, is appealing to the community and appealing to the driver, because we have a grieving family and a grieving community, and we’re trying to bring resolution and closure to the family as well,” Kimbrough stated.
The vehicle involved is believed to have a missing front right headlight cover and potential damage to the front bumper.
The Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information to reach out to law enforcement as they continue investigating this tragic event.
