Duke Energy attributes the elevated costs to the extended cold weather and increased usage seen earlier in the year. The company acknowledges a minor rate increase that was implemented in January but assures customers of the billing system’s accuracy.
State officials have announced a public hearing set for March 30th in Raleigh, offering customers an opportunity to express their concerns directly.
