North Carolina Voters Urged to Verify Registration Details Ahead of March Primary
As North Carolina gears up for the March primary, election officials are reminding voters of the importance of ensuring their voter registration details are up-to-date.
In an initiative launched last summer, the State Board of Elections reached out to approximately 70,000 voters statewide. These voters were prompted to provide either a driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number to bolster their registration records.
This initiative, part of the Registration Repair Project, was implemented to align with recent court directives.
In Forsyth, Guilford, and Watauga counties alone, there are still about 8,600 voters who need to update their registration with this information.
For those looking to update their records, options include online submission, mailing the details, or visiting their local county board of elections office in person.
Voters with incomplete records on election day will need to cast provisional ballots. Additionally, early voting kicks off this Thursday, providing an opportunity for voters to ensure everything is in order before the primary.
