Weather Update: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Snow Expected in Nevada
Weather enthusiasts and residents of Nevada, prepare for an interesting few days ahead. As the weather takes a turn, Reno will experience intermittent rain coupled with mostly cloudy and hazy skies, with temperatures peaking at about 74 degrees. The haziness is attributed to prescribed burns, affecting the air quality, which remains at a moderate level.
By around 5:30 p.m. today, rain is anticipated to begin in most parts of Washoe County and extend into parts of Elko. As we move into Thursday, scattered showers are likely to persist, and there is a slight risk of thunderstorms. Looking to Friday, there’s a 15-30% probability of thunderstorms occurring across Nevada, along with potential snowfall along the Sierra Crest.
The weekend will bring cooler temperatures, causing snow levels to drop to approximately 7,000 feet. Meanwhile, the valleys will continue to experience rainfall, marking a wet transition into the weekend.
