Wind Advisory and Weather Changes in Reno and Surrounding Areas

Residents of Reno and nearby counties should brace for significant weather changes today. With winds expected to gust over 50 mph, a wind advisory has been issued. It is advised to secure any loose objects outdoors. The high temperature in Reno is anticipated to reach approximately 63 degrees, typical for this time of year.

Scattered rain showers are forecasted for Humboldt, Pershing, Churchill, and Elko counties. As the weather evolves, these rain showers are predicted to transform into snow showers in Elko and the surrounding regions by tomorrow. A noticeable drop in temperature is expected, with Reno’s high plummeting to around 49 degrees. Additionally, a freeze watch is in place today and will continue through Thursday night into Friday morning.

Looking ahead, clear and warm conditions are expected on Friday and Saturday. However, the calm weather will be short-lived as stormy conditions are predicted to return next week.
