The Upcoming June Primary: Essential Voting Information and Recent Discussions
As the June Primary approaches, voters are receiving their mail ballots, prompting questions about the voting process. Recently, an informative discussion was held featuring notable figures such as Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar, Deputy Secretary of State for Elections Mark Wlashchin, and Carson City Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen. Organized by KUNR Public Radio and Sierra Nevada Forums, the event shed light on crucial topics like voter registration, federal interference, and ballot counting procedures. The conversation, guided by KUNR’s political reporter Lucia Starbuck, is available for viewing online for those who were unable to attend.
The forum was a collaborative effort involving Sierra Nevada Forums, the American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, The Nevada Appeal, and KUNR Public Radio, showcasing their dedication to providing free, educational events on significant state issues.
This event is part of the 11th season of Sierra Nevada Forums, known for their commitment to public education through discussions and forums. Earlier events this spring included a documentary showcase and townhall on immigration, and a screening and discussion on book bans in libraries. The forums will return for a 12th season this fall, featuring more candidate discussions led by Lucia Starbuck, gearing up for the November General Election.
