Weather Alerts and Temperature Fluctuations Expected Across Nevada
The weather in Nevada is set to bring a mix of calm and turbulent conditions this weekend. With temperatures peaking around 75 degrees in Reno, skies will remain mostly clear, accompanied by calm winds. However, a different story unfolds in other parts of the state.
Elko County is currently under a High Wind Warning, with conditions expected to persist until 11 p.m. on Saturday. Residents should brace for strong winds ranging between 25 and 35 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 60 mph.
Meanwhile, a broader swath of Northern and Central Nevada is subject to a wind advisory until 8 p.m. Saturday. Winds in these regions could reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph anticipated.
A weak cold front moving through the area will usher in cooler temperatures over the weekend, with forecasts predicting highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Elko County might experience some precipitation due to this front, while strong winds are expected to persist throughout Nevada.
Looking ahead to Monday, temperatures are forecast to rise to the high 70s on the valley floor and mid-60s in the Sierra. Notably, Tuesday could see temperatures soaring to potentially record-breaking highs for March, with the possibility of surpassing the all-time record of 83 degrees.
