Nebraska Casinos Break Revenue Records: $261M in 2025, $26M in December

Lincoln and Omaha casinos set new record for revenue and tax contributions

Nebraska Casinos Report Record-Breaking Revenue in December 2025

December 2025 marked a milestone for Nebraska’s casinos, as they collectively achieved their highest monthly revenue to date, generating over $26 million. This translated into an unprecedented tax contribution of more than $5 million.

As detailed in the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission’s year-end tax and revenue report, the total revenue for Nebraska’s casinos surged from approximately $145 million in 2024 to over $261 million in 2025. With a taxation rate of 20%, these figures resulted in more than $52 million in tax revenue for state and local governments. This significant increase is expected to positively impact property owners, with the Property Tax Credit Fund benefiting by over $36 million.

WarHorse Gaming’s casinos in Omaha and Lincoln led the revenue charts, with a combined income exceeding $177 million for the year. The Omaha facility, in particular, saw a significant increase in revenue, reaching $95 million, which was nearly triple its previous performance, as a result of last year’s expansion.

Lynne McNally, Government Relations Coordinator, explained the impact of these developments, stating, “A big push for that increased revenue was opening phase two, but we’re getting even bigger now. We’ve also opened additional tables in the main area and we’ll only be growing in 2026 I would anticipate.” Plans for further expansion in Lincoln include adding more gaming tables and introducing a high-end steakhouse, alongside enhancements to the sportsbook and simulcast area.

Additionally, WarHorse is contemplating the commencement of construction for a new casino in South Sioux City either this fall or the following spring.

The state’s other casinos also demonstrated robust growth in 2025. Grand Island Casino Resort’s revenue rose to nearly $55 million from $35 million in 2024, while Harrah’s Columbus increased its earnings from about $18 million in 2024 to over $25 million last year. Lake Mac Casino & Resort reported $4.4 million in revenue in just over five months of operation.
