Human Remains Discovered Amid Search for Missing Couple

Authorities have uncovered human remains in Saunders County during a search operation focused on finding a missing couple from Lincoln. This development adds a critical piece to the ongoing investigation surrounding the disappearance of Hannah Neville and her husband, Roberto Tanner.

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) announced the find on Thursday but noted, “At this time, LPD cannot confirm the number of individuals or their identities. Investigators are awaiting DNA or dental records to make a positive identification. CSI technicians and investigators remain on scene collecting and processing evidence,” according to their social media update.

The search efforts have been concentrated near Malmo, where Neville and Tanner were last believed to have been. The couple has been missing since early January, causing concern and prompting extensive search efforts.

Neville, who was 32 weeks pregnant at the time, vanished on January 15 after leaving her home in Stromsburg. Her intended destination was Lincoln, where she planned to meet Tanner. Alarmingly, her car was discovered in flames in Lincoln the day after her disappearance.

Earlier in the week, Lincoln Police officials confirmed their belief that Neville and Tanner were deceased. This announcement was followed by the arrest of Sterling James, Tanner’s half-brother, on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder. Additionally, his wife, Sayde Titus, was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting the murders. More details can be found in the official statement.

Subsequent charges against James include two counts of first-degree murder, one count of murder of an unborn child in the first degree, and tampering with evidence. Titus faces charges of being an accessory to murder and tampering with evidence.
