End Citizens United Names Most Corrupt Lawmakers Tied to Dark Money

New list names Collins, Husted among most corrupt lawmakers

End Citizens United Unveils List of Allegedly Corrupt Lawmakers

End Citizens United, an organization focused on addressing the issue of dark money in politics, has released a list that identifies certain lawmakers they claim prioritize corporate interests over their constituents. The list features 16 representatives and three senators, all belonging to the Republican Party.

Tiffany Muller, President of End Citizens United, commented, “They side with Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Tech, and Wall Street while hardworking Americans pay more for everyday essentials like health care, utilities, and rent.”

Senators Under Scrutiny

Among the senators on the list are Susan Collins of Maine, Jon Husted of Ohio, and Ashley Moody of Florida. Each is engaged in tight reelection contests this year.

According to the group, Collins has amassed over $8.3 million from corporate PACs, with significant contributions from pharmaceutical and insurance sectors. Her substantial stock portfolio increased by 77% in 2024, a time when many Mainers over 65 spent 10% of their income on healthcare. She voted against the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which aimed to cut pharmaceutical prices for seniors, and backed the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, along with the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act that significantly reduced Medicaid funding.

Husted, a Senate member since last year, received over $550,000 in corporate PAC funds, primarily from the insurance industry. He also supported the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. End Citizens United highlighted his connections to billionaire Les Wexner, who was linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Husted accepted a $3,500 donation from Wexner in September 2025, long after Wexner’s association with Epstein had been revealed. Subsequently, Husted voted against a Senate amendment requiring the public release of investigative documents concerning Epstein by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Muller stated, “The corrupt politicians on this year’s list take money from corporate special interests and billionaires and use their power to protect those same donors as they raise prices on working families.”

Key Representatives Named

The list also includes notable representatives such as Bill Huizenga from Michigan, Mike Lawler from New York, Rob Bresnahan from Pennsylvania, and Andy Ogles from Tennessee.
