University of Georgia Celebrates Record-Breaking Donations
In an impressive display of generosity, the University of Georgia has announced a record-smashing $324.4 million in private donations for the fiscal year 2026. This marks the third year in a row that the university has achieved unprecedented fundraising success, with nearly 69,800 alumni, parents, and friends contributing to the institution’s growth.
UGA’s privately funded scholarships have made a significant impact, benefiting 10,050 students during the academic year. The ongoing “For Georgia. For Generations.” scholarship campaign has amassed $53 million to date. The university also boasts a three-year fundraising average of $300 million and has established 407 endowed faculty positions.
Noteworthy among the major donations is a $20.5 million gift from the Ivester Foundation, which will support the newly named UGA School of Nursing. Additionally, Nancy and Les Juneau provided $5 million for the College of Engineering, while alumnus Adam Wexler committed $10 million to men’s basketball.
University officials highlight that these philanthropic contributions are crucial in expanding educational opportunities, enhancing research capabilities, and advancing strategic priorities throughout Georgia.
