During Tri Delta’s annual gathering at St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee, the news was announced, exciting approximately 400 members from over 130 chapters who attended the celebration. The momentous occasion was marked by vibrant celebrations as the milestone was disclosed, filling the room with cheers and balloons.

Initiated in 1999, the partnership between Tri Delta and St. Jude has flourished over 27 years. Throughout this period, various fundraising events such as pancake breakfasts, fun runs, and letter-writing campaigns have been organized by the members, all driven by the conviction that every contribution can make a difference.

Tri Delta noted, “No act is too small to make a difference,” a testament to the ongoing efforts of their members in supporting families grappling with childhood cancer.

The funds raised have gone towards St. Jude’s mission and have also been instrumental in establishing Tri Delta Place, a short-term housing facility for patient families during the initial stages of treatment.

One of the most significant impacts of Tri Delta’s support is ensuring that families at St. Jude never receive bills for treatment, travel, lodging, or meals, allowing them to focus wholly on their child’s recovery.

During the annual celebration, the attendees were given tours of the hospital campus, including visits to the Danny Thomas Research Center, the Danny Thomas ALSAC Pavilion, and Tri Delta Place, offering them a deeper understanding of the tangible impact of their contributions on a global scale.

Tri Delta CEO Mindy Tucker expressed pride in their partnership, stating, “We are incredibly proud to be the Official Partner of Kindness to St. Jude. This accomplishment puts us well on our way toward meeting our next fundraising goal with St. Jude, $100 million by 2038.”

Praise for the sorority’s commitment also came from ALSAC President and CEO Ike Anand, who remarked, “This $25 million milestone reflects the strength of Tri Delta’s dedication to making a difference for kids in the U.S. and around the world. We are grateful for their continued generosity as St. Jude builds on that legacy to advance research and care for children from around the world.”

The collaboration extends beyond financial aid. Through the research and treatments developed at St. Jude, the overall childhood cancer survival rate has risen from 20 percent to over 80 percent. Still, the dedication to eradicating childhood cancer remains steadfast in both organizations.

As they continue their partnership, both Tri Delta and St. Jude remain committed to their ultimate goal: ensuring no child succumbs to cancer.
