Pennsylvania College of Technology Halts Baseball Season Amid Investigation
The baseball season at Pennsylvania College of Technology has come to an abrupt halt following an internal investigation. The college, located in Williamsport, has not disclosed the specifics that triggered the investigation but has confirmed it resulted in significant adjustments to both the coaching staff and the team roster.
Issues emerged after a recent Spring Break tournament held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, prompting the college to take decisive action. “The college takes these matters seriously and canceled practices and postponed games while conducting a thorough investigation,” the school stated.
In light of the investigation, Chris Howard, who had been the head coach since 2007, is no longer featured on the college’s website. A national search for a new baseball coach is anticipated to commence this spring, signaling a fresh start for the program.
The college faced a crucial decision regarding the continuation of the season. After consultations with the remaining eligible student-athletes, officials determined that there were not enough players to safely continue. “After careful consideration and a review of all available options in this complex situation, the college has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2026 baseball season,” the statement read. “The college remains committed to supporting its student-athletes and moving the baseball program forward.”
Amid circulating rumors and unofficial reports, the college urges the community to seek information only from its official communications. “To ensure accuracy, the college encourages the community to rely on information shared through official college communications,” the statement concludes. “To protect individual privacy and the integrity of the review process, the college will not provide additional comment at this time.”
