Supreme Nonwoven to Create 50 Jobs, Invest $25.8M in Lexington, NC

North Carolina’s January Employment Figures Released

Supreme Nonwoven Inc., a leader in the production of advanced nonwoven materials, has announced plans to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. The project is expected to create 50 new jobs in Davidson County and involves an investment of $25.8 million. Governor Josh Stein expressed pride in welcoming the company to the state, emphasizing North Carolina’s reputation as a hub for textile innovation. As a subsidiary of India’s Supreme Group, the company aims to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market.

The new facility will span over 200,000 square feet and will serve as a center for technical collaboration, enhancing the company’s ability to work closely with North American clients. This setup aims to provide customers with customized material solutions and access to the latest advancements in nonwoven technology. Amit Kavrie, Managing Director of Supreme Group, highlighted the company’s commitment to the U.S. market and its strategy to bring material technologies closer to customers in the region. Additionally, Manoj Swain, Director of International Operations, emphasized the strategic importance of Lexington as a base for supporting customers with technical collaboration and reliable execution.

North Carolina’s textile industry is noted for its excellence and innovation, with the state boasting the nation’s largest concentration of nonwoven firms. The announcement of Supreme Nonwoven Inc.’s new facility is seen as a testament to the state’s robust ecosystem that combines research, talent, and industry expertise. The project is supported by a performance-based grant of $100,000 from the One North Carolina Fund, which aids local governments in attracting economic investment and job creation. The initiative also involves collaboration from multiple partners, including the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, and Davidson-Davie Community College.
