Jackson EMC to Distribute $16 Million in Refunds This December
Members of the Jackson Electric Membership Corporation are in for a financial boost this winter, as the cooperative prepares to distribute a substantial $16 million in refunds. This initiative will benefit over 200,000 individuals, comprising both current and former members of the cooperative.
As the largest electric cooperative in Georgia, Jackson EMC operates out of its headquarters in Jefferson, providing services across ten counties, including areas from metro Atlanta to Athens. The cooperative’s commitment to its members is reflected in this refund, which is part of a routine practice for the not-for-profit organization.
Wendy Jones, the cooperative’s Public Relations and Communication Director, emphasized the organization’s dedication to its members with the statement, “Because Jackson EMC is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by the people we serve, any extra revenue after our costs and system investments goes back to our members.”
The refund checks are scheduled to be mailed out to members in December, offering them a welcome financial return during the holiday season.
