Award-Winning Efforts: Oconee County Parks and Recreation’s Excellence Recognized

Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department has once again proven its commitment to community service by earning multiple accolades from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA). This recognition highlights the department’s consistent dedication to enhancing community health and wellness through its diverse range of facilities and programs.

The prestigious GRPA District Seven Agency of the Year award was bestowed upon the department, affirming its status as a leader in recreational service and development. Beyond this agency-wide honor, individual achievements were also celebrated. The awards for Programmer of the Year, Student of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year were all claimed by members of the Oconee County team. Additionally, Lisa D. Davol received the notable District Seven Jeff Pruitt Inspiration Award, underscoring her influence and dedication.

With stewardship over more than 600 acres, Oconee County Parks and Recreation manages an impressive array of facilities. These include fitness centers, tennis courts, and sports complexes, all designed to cater to a wide range of age groups and interests.
