A devastating incident unfolded as the coroner’s office confirmed the death of Hayde Medina-Valiente, an elderly woman from North Valleys. The tragedy stemmed from a fire that left her and two other family members severely injured. In a statement to KUNR, a family member revealed that Hayde Medina-Valiente was airlifted along with three relatives to UC Davis Medical Center, highlighting the severe impact of the blaze. The family continues to face uncertainty as two other members remain hospitalized due to their injuries.
The Hawk Fire, which wreaked havoc in the region, is now 93% contained. The fire resulted in the destruction of 47 homes and prompted evacuations, causing widespread disruption and distress among residents.
