Intense Search for Suspect in Tanglewood Park Assault

Authorities in Forsyth County are deploying extensive resources to locate a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred at Tanglewood Park this past Tuesday. The incident has prompted law enforcement to intensify their efforts in ensuring public safety.

The assault happened at approximately 1 p.m. on a hiking trail located near the dog park and overflow parking area. The victim, a woman who was jogging, was approached and attacked by a bald, bearded white man. She managed to fend off the attacker and sought help from a bystander who subsequently alerted emergency services.

During a press briefing, Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough emphasized the dedication of the law enforcement team in pursuing the suspect relentlessly. “You have no idea the resources that we have put forward,” Sheriff Kimbrough stated. “I will say this, and I probably shouldn’t say it, but I have no respect of funding on this one.”

In a bid to identify the assailant, the sheriff’s office has released a sketch and is appealing to the public for assistance. Sheriff Kimbrough also advised joggers to take precautionary measures, such as running with a partner and carrying bear spray.

Meanwhile, a comparable assault reported last week along the Bicentennial Greenway in High Point is under investigation. However, Sheriff Kimbrough noted that the two incidents are likely unrelated due to the suspects’ differing racial descriptions.
