Bringing a touch of holiday cheer, Santa Claus made an early appearance at Lincoln’s Bryan East NICU on Wednesday, greeting the hospital’s tiniest patients and their families with festive joy.
For over ten years, Santa has been spreading Christmas magic among the newborns at Bryan Health’s neonatal intensive care unit.
“It’s just really special to bring the magic of Christmas to them,” Santa remarked. “Especially to the little ones, since it’s their first Christmas, and just being here and just bringing the magic of the North Pole, I think it does wonders.”
The NICU at Bryan Health transforms each year with holiday spirit as nurses adorn the rooms with Christmas decorations and dress the infants in cheerful holiday attire.
Joining Santa on his rounds is nurse Rachel Kreikemeier, who dons an elf costume to enhance the festive experience.
“It’s so nice to see the parents light up,” stated NICU nurse Alex White. “All the staff lights up. It’s just, it’s so great. It just brings a little bit of holiday and fun to the NICU.”
