In Georgia, early voting has commenced with significant participation, as indicated by recent data from the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office. Over 184,000 voters cast their ballots during the first week, representing 2.5% of the state’s registered voters. This turnout includes nearly 98,000 Democrats, 83,595 Republicans, and 2,800 nonpartisan voters.

Focusing on Athens-Clarke County, a notable 1,200 residents have already voted, accounting for approximately 1.7% of the local electorate. Among these early voters, 873 identified as Democrats, 292 as Republicans, and 35 as nonpartisan. Furthermore, the county has seen 678 absentee ballot requests to date.

Georgia boasts an active voter population exceeding seven million, with Athens hosting 72,268 of these registered voters. The early voting statistics suggest a robust engagement from both major parties and independent voters, setting the stage for a closely watched election period.
