Greensboro’s Third No Kings Protest Draws Hundreds Against Injustice

Hundreds rally in Greensboro for third No Kings protest

Protesters Gather in Greensboro to Demand Change

In a powerful display of civic action, hundreds converged on Greensboro’s downtown area on Saturday afternoon to participate in the third major No Kings protest. The demonstrators, armed with signs, voiced their dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump’s administration and urged the federal government to prioritize the needs of the people.

One participant, Greensboro resident Catherine Holcombe, emphasized the importance of vocal opposition. “I wish it would make the lawmakers get stronger and know the people are behind them,” she remarked, adding, “But it may be just that we have to wait and elect new people.”

Organized by Indivisible Guilford County, a local progressive grassroots group, the rally featured performances by musical acts like the Raging Grannies, who performed songs advocating resistance. Speakers at the event underscored the necessity of safeguarding individuals’ fundamental rights.

Among the notable speakers was North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls, who served as the keynote speaker. She highlighted Greensboro’s legacy of standing against injustice, stating, “The message today echoing through this crowd and everywhere across this country is unmistakable. We do not bow to rulers.”

Bill McDonald, another attendee, expressed his concern over the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “It has to go back to voting,” he said. “Vote these people out. I think the message is clear.”

Claudia Lange, an organizer with Indivisible Guilford County, echoed this sentiment. “Rallies are important in their own right, and they get people excited,” she noted. “However, the real extra work is in between rallies. We want to see people get involved by canvassing. We want to make sure that people are voting any and every single time that they can.”

The Greensboro demonstration was part of a larger movement, with similar protests occurring nationwide, including a nearby event in Winston-Salem.
