In a closely contested match, Nebraska initially surged ahead with a commanding 12-2 start. However, Iowa showed resilience, narrowing the gap to 46-43 by halftime.

The second half unfolded as a nail-biter, with both teams exchanging leads. Iowa eventually edged forward with a crucial three-pointer by Bennett Stirtz, taking a 68-65 advantage with just over two minutes left on the clock.

From that point, Iowa maintained its momentum, outscoring Nebraska 9-6 in the final minutes to secure the victory.

Bennett Stirtz emerged as the standout performer for Iowa, contributing 20 points. For Nebraska, Pryce Sandfort led the scoring with 25 points, showcasing his skills by hitting six of 10 attempts from beyond the arc. Braden Frager added 16 points to Nebraska’s effort.

Despite the loss, Nebraska concluded its most successful season to date with a 29-7 record.

Iowa, the ninth seed, improved its record to 24-12 and advanced to the Elite Eight, where they will face the winner of the Houston-Illinois matchup.
