An Insightful Look into Nevada’s Immigration Dynamics
On March 11, a compelling documentary made its debut at a notable event exploring the complex history of immigration, the impact of presidential policies characterized by anti-immigrant attitudes, and the invaluable contributions of immigrants to Nevada’s society, economy, and workforce.
The event featured a panel discussion moderated by Lucia Starbuck, a political reporter with KUNR Public Radio. The panelists brought diverse expertise to the conversation, including Professor Michael Kagan, who directs the UNLV Immigration Clinic at the William S Boyd School of Law; Athar Haseebullah, the executive director of the ACLU Nevada; Cristian Gonzalez Perez, supervising attorney at Make the Road Nevada; and Edelweiss Solano, senior director of the Asian Community Development Council. For those unable to attend, the event is available for viewing below.
The forum was a complimentary event organized by Sierra Nevada Forums in collaboration with several organizations: the American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, The Nevada Appeal, and KUNR Public Radio.
