University of Georgia Reveals Speakers for 2026 Commencement Ceremonies
Excitement builds at the University of Georgia as the institution names the distinguished speakers set to address students at the upcoming 2026 graduation ceremonies, encompassing both undergraduate and graduate celebrations.
DJ Shockley, known for his past as a quarterback with the University of Georgia and later the Atlanta Falcons, will step up to deliver the undergraduate commencement speech. Currently, Shockley is the sports director at FOX 5, bringing a wealth of experience from his athletic and media careers. His tenure as a UGA quarterback from 2002 to 2005 was marked by leading the team to a Southeastern Conference Championship. He was notably the first UGA player to be drafted by the Atlanta Falcons since 1994, joining the team in the 2006 NFL Draft.
On the graduate side, the commencement address will be given by Meg Amstutz, who holds the position of dean at the Jere W. Morehead Honors College. Her role extends to managing the college’s operations, overseeing the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities, and the Foundation Fellowship. Amstutz’s leadership experience includes serving as interim president at the College of Coastal Georgia during the 2017-18 academic year.
