In a recent interview, Nayyar shared insights on how financial security has been a transformative blessing in his life. Having starred in one of television’s biggest hits, he highlights that wealth has afforded him the opportunity to give back meaningfully.
“Money has given me greater freedom,” he stated. “And the greatest gift is the ability to give back, to change people’s lives.”
Together with his wife Neha Kapur, Nayyar contributes to university scholarships targeting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their philanthropic reach also includes supporting animal charities, fueled by their love for dogs.
Among Nayyar’s acts of kindness, one remains notably private.
He often visits GoFundMe at night, paying off medical expenses for strangers in need.
“We also support animal charities because we love dogs. But what I really love to do is go on GoFundMe at night and just pay random families’ medical bills. That’s my masked vigilante thing!” He smiles, gently. “So, no, money doesn’t feel like a burden. It feels like a grace from the universe.”
Nayyar’s approach is discreet.
No announcements.
No media coverage.
Simply quiet benevolence.
Acknowledging that not everyone can contribute on the same scale, Nayyar emphasizes that everyone can participate in spreading kindness.
“Right now people are not happy because we are all expecting someone else to be kind,” he remarked. “We are expecting a president or a politician, some leader, to come and bring us world peace.”
True change, he posits, begins on a smaller scale.
“There is no world peace if your neighbour comes to your door wanting some sugar for their tea, and you lock it against them.”
The essence of his message is simple and enduring: “No one is going to come and change the world for you. You have to do it for yourself.”
