Severe Weather Causes Major Traffic Disruption on I-85
Travelers on Interstate 85 are facing significant delays due to a massive traffic incident caused by adverse weather conditions. The interstate is currently shut down between Dale Earnhardt Boulevard at Exit 60 and Exit 63, according to the City of Kannapolis.
Authorities report that the pileup involves numerous vehicles, including over two dozen tractor-trailers, which have become stranded as a result of the hazardous conditions. The National Guard, alongside the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, is actively responding to the situation to assist with clearing the roadway and ensuring the safety of those involved.
