Plastic Injection Molding Plant Closure in Menasha Set to Impact Over 100 Jobs
In a significant shift for the Fox Valley workforce, ORBIS Corp., a branch of Menasha Corp., is relocating its operations from Menasha, Wisconsin, resulting in over 100 job losses. The move to a new facility in Texas is part of an organizational strategy outlined in a recent state filing.
The closure of the Menasha plant on Earl Street will lead to the permanent layoff of 109 employees, starting around March 16, as detailed in the official notice. The company has indicated that the layoffs will occur in phases, aligning with the gradual wind-down of operations at the current location.
According to the layoff notice, “The terminations will likely occur in phases, depending upon the needs of the business as the work at the Menasha facility winds down.” The notice also mentions the possibility of some affected employees being offered new positions in the Fox Valley region, provided they meet qualification requirements.
The job cuts will encompass various roles, from plant management to production operators. Notably, the workforce at this facility is not unionized, which may affect the transition options available to employees.
