Triad Healthcare Providers Ease Masking and Visitor Policies

Triad hospitals ease visitor restrictions

Triad Healthcare Facilities Relax Masking and Visitor Protocols

Two major healthcare institutions in the Triad region are adjusting their policies regarding masks and visitors as flu cases decline. Cone Health, which previously reported a surge of 150 flu patients in December, now sees only about two dozen cases. This reduction allows the hospital to permit visitors aged 12 and under once more, although certain exceptions remain for high-risk areas such as cancer centers and emergency departments.

Visitors showing symptoms like coughing or sneezing are still encouraged to wear masks to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Similarly, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is removing its flu season restrictions that were implemented in December. However, they advise those experiencing respiratory symptoms, fever, or rash to refrain from visiting.

The updated visitor policies for both healthcare systems will be effective starting at 7:00 a.m. on February 25.
