Historic NASCAR Event Set to Revitalize North Wilkesboro Speedway

The North Wilkesboro Speedway is set to host what may be its most significant event yet. This May, the speedway will see its inaugural NASCAR triple-header race weekend, an event anticipated to be the most memorable in the venue’s 80-year legacy.

On Friday, May 21, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will kick off the weekend, followed by the return of the O’Reilly Auto Parts series on Saturday, marking its first appearance since 1985. The weekend will culminate with the NASCAR All-Star Race on Sunday, offering a winning purse of $1 million.

Originally held at North Wilkesboro from 2023 to 2025, the All-Star Race had a brief detour to Dover Motor Speedway last year. This year’s event will be broadcasted live in prime time on Fox Sports.

NASCAR CEO Ben Kennedy expressed that the weekend’s events highlight the “extraordinary” resurgence of the North Wilkesboro Speedway.
