North Carolina Certifies 2025 Municipal Election Results

In a significant step for North Carolina’s electoral process, the State Board of Elections has almost entirely validated the outcomes of the recent municipal elections. This action follows a meticulous canvassing process to ensure accuracy in vote counting.

Conducted on November 4, the municipal elections have received the unanimous approval of the State Board, with the exception of two races in Hertford County. The Board is currently seeking additional information concerning potential discrepancies in these specific contests.

According to Executive Director Sam Hayes, the election process was largely smooth throughout the state. The verification of these results underscores the importance of the canvassing process, which initially begins with county boards of elections before culminating in the State Board’s final endorsement.
