Mecklenburg Health Warns of Potential Measles Exposure in Charlotte

Mecklenburg County issues measles exposure notice for two locations

Potential Measles Exposure Alert in South Charlotte

Residents in south Charlotte are being urged to stay vigilant after Mecklenburg County Public Health announced potential measles exposure at two locations. The advisory comes after visits to Vista Auction and Lidl last month were identified as possible sites of exposure.

Individuals who were at Vista Auction located at 2500 Sardis Rd. on January 29 and 30 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., as well as those who visited Lidl at 9318 Monroe Road on January 30 from 2 to 4:30 p.m., are advised to watch for symptoms and consider the necessary precautions following potential exposure.

Mecklenburg County Public Health clarified that neither Vista Auction nor Lidl was the source of the infection. Both businesses are now deemed safe for public visits and are actively collaborating with health officials during the ongoing investigation.

Although no direct link to existing measles cases in Mecklenburg County has been found, this exposure is related to a case from a different area. Currently, there are three reported measles cases within the county. Health officials are coordinating with regional partners as the number of measles cases continues to rise across the Carolinas.
