JetZero’s Bold Plans Take Flight with New Funding
Aerospace innovation is soaring as JetZero, a promising startup with roots in Greensboro, has recently secured a substantial financial boost. The company has obtained a $100 million loan, set to propel its ambitious projects forward.
This funding injection is primarily aimed at advancing the development of JetZero’s Z4 aircraft, a novel all-wing design tailored for the middle market, with plans for it to be operational by the early 2030s. The Z4 is envisioned as a 250-seat aircraft that sets new benchmarks in design and efficiency.
JetZero’s Chief Financial Officer, Sergey Kulyagin, emphasized the significance of this loan in a press release, stating that it highlights the company’s creditworthiness. Additionally, Kulyagin noted that the funds will facilitate the upcoming maiden flight of Jet1, the prototype that will demonstrate the capabilities of the Z4, scheduled for the following year.
The company has already commenced construction on its Greensboro production facility, marking a significant step forward in its journey. According to the company’s website, there are plans to hire over 14,000 employees in the coming decade to support the production and development of the new aircraft.
