Asheville Launches Real-Time Bus Tracking Website for ART Riders

Asheville launches new website with ART bus trip planning tools

Asheville Enhances Bus Travel with Innovative Website for Commuters

Asheville’s public transportation system introduces a significant upgrade aimed at simplifying the commuting experience for its riders. The launch of RideTheArt.com marks a new era, offering real-time tracking of buses to help users navigate their journeys more efficiently.

This newly launched platform consolidates all necessary Asheville Rides Transit information, which was previously dispersed over multiple sites, into one comprehensive source.

“We’re excited to offer these new tools for our community,” commented Chris Whitlock, the city’s transit division manager, underlining the city’s commitment to improving public transit. “We’ve listened to feedback from passengers, and believe this new site will make planning an ART trip easier and more efficient.”

The introduction of this website is part of broader efforts to enhance the city’s transportation framework.

In a recent decision, the Asheville City Council approved a substantial four-year contract worth nearly $55 million with RATP Dev, the city’s current bus service provider. Furthermore, a public transit survey was conducted last year, with a Comprehensive Operational Analysis aimed at revamping bus routes expected to be finalized this summer.

For those looking to stay informed about the ART buses in real-time, options such as the city’s NextART texting service, Google Maps, and the Transit smartphone app remain available alongside the new website.
