Federal Aid Available for Nevada Fire Victims
The recent declaration of a disaster by the Small Business Administration (SBA) on September 11 has opened a pathway for financial assistance to Nevada residents affected by the Bug and Hawk fires. This initiative offers much-needed support to those grappling with the aftermath of the fires, including both individuals and businesses.
Residents whose properties have suffered physical damage can now seek financial relief through the SBA’s physical damage loans designed to facilitate the repair or replacement of damaged property. Additionally, small businesses experiencing economic setbacks due to the fires are eligible to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), which aim to provide financial stability during challenging times.
“We’re grateful for the SBA’s declaration and to everyone who has come together to help survivors in these difficult times,” expressed Brett Compston, Chief of the Nevada Office of Emergency Management, in an official statement. This declaration underscores the collaborative effort and commitment to assisting those impacted by the fires.
For those interested in applying for assistance, the deadline for physical damage loan applications is set for November 10. Meanwhile, small businesses have until June 11, 2027, to apply for the EIDL. Applications can be submitted online through the MySBA Loan Portal at lending.sba.gov.
