Nebraska Medicine to Build $99M Farnam Health Center in Omaha

Nebraska Medicine announces $99M building for dermatology, GI and behavioral health services

In a significant move to expand healthcare services in Omaha, Nebraska Medicine has unveiled plans for a new four-story facility, the “Farnam Health Center,” strategically located near 42nd and Farnam streets. This development marks a substantial investment in the community’s health infrastructure, with a budget of $99 million.

The financing for this ambitious project will be supported in part by private contributions, as confirmed by the hospital system. Nebraska Medicine will also contribute to the remaining funding, ensuring the project’s completion by the summer of 2027, with patient services expected to commence by September of the same year.

Aiming to address the growing demand for specialized healthcare services, the new center is set to become the primary hub for Nebraska Medicine’s Dermatology program. It will provide comprehensive outpatient care in gastroenterology, behavioral health, and internal medicine.

Dr. Michael Ash, CEO of Nebraska Medicine, emphasized the importance of these services, describing them as “highly sought-after specialty care.” He noted, “We know there is an urgent need for behavioral health services in the community. This project is a meaningful step toward expanding our world-class care and supporting those who rely on us.”
