In a move poised to boost the local economy and expand production capabilities, Chomps, a leading producer of meat sticks, has announced its collaboration with Beatrice-based Landmark Snacks. The partnership aims to establish a significant manufacturing facility in southeast Nebraska, set to open by the second quarter of 2027.
The forthcoming 160,000-square-foot facility in Beatrice marks a strategic expansion for Chomps, whose growth rate has outpaced the industry average by a factor of ten. Rashid Ali, the co-founder and CEO of Chomps, highlighted the necessity of this development, stating, “The explosive growth we’ve experienced makes increasing our capacity not just a goal, but an essential step to meet the continuous, high demand for Chomps. This facility is a major strategic move that will allow us to scale with intention, supporting both sustained momentum and future innovation.”
The decision to partner with Landmark Snacks is attributed to several strategic advantages, including improved distribution efficiency, proximity to Landmark’s existing manufacturing operations, and the availability of a skilled workforce in Beatrice. Landmark already produces some Chomps products at its current facility.
Chad Lottman, owner of Landmark Snacks, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, saying, “This new Greenfield project is a continuation of that successful partnership. We are excited to break ground on a facility that will be custom-built to Chomps’ rigorous specifications and to create significant new job opportunities in Beatrice.”
Since its inception in Diller in 1994 and subsequent relocation to Beatrice, Landmark Snacks has grown to employ over 300 individuals. The new plant is projected to generate an additional 150 jobs for the community, which has a population of approximately 12,000. Although the companies have not disclosed the project’s cost, the economic impact of the new facility is anticipated to be substantial.
