Rather than dismissing the situation, the officer decided to trail the dog, which led him approximately half a block to a nearby residence.
Upon arrival, the officer noticed that the garage door was open, revealing the homeowner lying on the floor, unable to move.
The individual had endured this predicament for over three hours.
Thanks to the timely intervention, the officer was able to summon the necessary medical assistance, which arrived promptly to administer care. The homeowner has since returned home and is now on the path to recovery.
The Leawood Police Department acknowledged that the outcome could have been drastically different without the dog’s intervention, highlighting the crucial role the animal played in guiding the officer to the scene.
