A quick-thinking delivery driver in Poole, Dorset, is being praised for his heroic actions that saved a customer’s life. “I knocked and called the contact number, but there was no reply,” Dantas explained. Ready to move on, he suddenly felt compelled to stay. “I believe God made me go back,” he said, recalling the powerful intuition that urged him to act.

Peering through a window, he saw the woman, in her 60s, lying unconscious. Leandro promptly dialed emergency services, who arrived to administer glucose as she was having a diabetic episode caused by low blood sugar.

Dantas happened to be working that day due to a shift swap, which he believes was a twist of fate. “I’m just happy that I was able to help and save her,” he expressed.

In a remarkable display of care, Leandro even put away the woman’s groceries during the emergency response. Following her transport to the hospital for further evaluation, he completed his shift. He later visited her with flowers to check on her recovery.

The grateful woman expressed her thanks in a letter to the Bournemouth Echo, describing Dantas as a “wonderful chap.”

“What he did was certainly above and beyond what I would expect from a delivery driver,” she commented.

Leandro’s actions have led to a nomination for an Asda service superstar award. “He truly is a hero and went totally above and beyond, which in turn probably saved the customer’s life,” his manager, Heidi Mallinson, remarked to SWNS.
