University of Georgia Student Found Deceased; Investigation Ongoing

No foul play suspected in UGA student death

In a tragic incident that has left the University of Georgia community in mourning, a 19-year-old student was found unresponsive in her temporary residence. Her roommate discovered her condition and promptly initiated emergency procedures, including calling 911 and administering CPR.

When officers from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department arrived at the hotel on Broad Street, where the student and her roommate were staying due to renovations at their sorority house, they pronounced her dead at the scene. The police have stated that the death is under investigation, with no indications of foul play, and an autopsy is underway to determine the cause.

The University of Georgia has acknowledged the student’s death, noting that she was not part of the annual memorial service held this Wednesday, as per the wishes of her family. However, it has been confirmed that she will be commemorated in the service next year.
